​Hyperthermia is a type of cancer treatment that expose body tissues to moderate temperature (up to 44 ° C ) in order to damage and to kill cancer cells, it is almost always combined with other kind of treatment such as radiotherapy or chemotherapy.

 

Several methods of hyperthermia are already been used such as local or regional hyperthermia or whole body hyperthermia.

Numerous clinical studies have proven the effectiveness of hyperthermia in treating certain type of cancers.

The successful therapeutic responses are directly related to getting the temperature in a given time (lower than 15 minutes)  to prevent the patient’s body thermoregulation, which will impact any benefice from the therapy. The other advantage of raising the temperature of both the tumor and the adjacent tissues will maximize the oxygenation of the tumor zone and avoid any latent metastatic development close to the tumor.
